Stereotypes | flexible decorative figures in Bauhaus style | Cultform design

May I introduce: Oskar, Paul, and Walter.

Yes, I could have called them Ludwig, Lazlo, and Lyonel, or even Wassily, Johannes, or Marcel, but you can simply assemble these others yourself. Because these (stereo) types are quite flexible, so to speak, from the start.

They can be easily disassembled into their individual parts and reassembled.

And these basic shapes could hardly be simpler: circle, square, and triangle – the fundamental geometric forms of the Bauhaus aesthetic – symbolizing infinity, stability, and dynamism.

They can be combined with the other figures, the StereoTYPEN series and the ArmLEUCHTERS from CULTFORM or their elements.

The colors red, yellow, and blue are the primary colors in color theory. They were considered fundamental by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, who taught at the Bauhaus.
The three were handcrafted in Seiffen (Ore Mountains) and come in a wooden box with a sliding lid specially made for them in Olbernhau (next door in the Ore Mountains).

They combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design and still have a playful lightness in their hand luggage.

Unique, modern, high-quality handcrafted figures from the “StereoTYPES” series by the Cultform label with the potential to become design classics.

The figures are between 14 cm and 19 cm tall. The diameter of the larger components is 10 cm. The StereoTYPES and their brothers and sisters... ...the CULTFORM ARMCHAIRS are hand-turned figures made of linden wood, each assembled using a modular system consisting of four simple geometric shapes, such as a sphere, hemisphere, cylinder, cone, and truncated cone, using plug-in connections.

They each consist of four parts: hat, face, upper body, and lower body. The candelabras also include the arm part.

Unlike the armless StereoTYPEs, the upper bodies of the ARM chandeliers are drilled through to accommodate the arms. Otherwise, StereoTYPEs and ARM chandeliers can be combined, and a StereoTYPE can be turned into an ARM chandelier by swapping out the upper body.

Practical. And flexible. How wonderful!

The pieces are held together by a rod attached to the hat. In the case of the ARM candlesticks, this spine secures the additional arms against twisting. This ensures that the candle-holding "hands" always point upward.

Theoretically, the 15 basic building blocks result in 847 different figures, and that doesn't even take the different colors into account.

The StereoTYPES are also available as a complete set in a large wooden box, in natural or colored. It contains 7 figures, each consisting of all 15 basic shapes. A total of 28 (7×4) components.

All StereoTYPES and ARM chandeliers from CULTFORM can be combined with each other.

Lighting (only applies to candelabras):

The ARM candlesticks are designed as candlesticks. Pyramid candles with a diameter of 14 mm fit best in the sockets. Less traditional, but with a longer burn time and safer (for children), are the magnetic LED candles, which can be ordered separately.

Whether you choose a wax or LED candle is, of course, a philosophical question that everyone has to answer for themselves. To allow for changing or reversing the tops, the spout and, if desired, the drip tray can be removed, as they are held in place by magnets.
